An On-Feet Look At The Upcoming Pokémon x adidas Collection

In 2018, adidas combined Dragon Ball Z, an anime series, with many of their popular models. It looks like the brand does not plan to stop the production of TV series collaborations as an adidas x Pokémon line seems to already be in the works.

Last year, the Dragon Ball Z collection was a huge hit for the brand with the three stripes.

The series allowed many adidas fans to receive bright new meaningful colorways of their favorite models as well as introduce some of the TV shows’ fans to the brand for the first time. It must have been a great success for the adidas team, as they are set to release a Pokémon line next.

Unveiled back in March, today we get our first on-feet look at one pair from the upcoming Pokémon x adidas Collection.

The Pokémon x adidas Collection is said to include the two pairs of model you see above. The low-top models pay tribute to original Pokémon characters, Pikachu (pictured) and Squirtle. The shoes start off with a simple White upper that are then highlighted by the all-over illustration pattern showing images of Pikachu and Squirtle, respectively. Added details include the Yellow and Blue heel tabs representing the colors of Pikachu and Squirtle, as well as the character patch embroidery noted on the medial side where you would usually find the Three Stripes branding. Co-branded tongue labels, White laces and White soles round out the main features of the shoe.

No release date for the Pokémon x adidas Collection has been announced, but expect adidas to officially announce the collection shortly.

Shared via Jean Carlos’ @solebyjc Instagram account, the Pikachu-infused sneaker sees the lovable mascot appearing as a print throughout the upper, while both the lateral and medial sides feature an embroidery of the character. Contrasting yellow hits, also representing the fan favorite Pokémon, can be found on the heel cap and lace aglets. Finally collaborative adidas and Pokémon co-branding has been stitched to the front of the tongue tabs, while a Pokéball can be found on the backside.

Along with this Pikachu model, a Squirtle iteration is also set to release. Keep it locked here for official photos and a release date.
